In a space where I truly have felt like the world has crashed upon me, Leslie's books have given me a ray of light into how to love the world again. In every lifetime I truly appreciate all of zir work for teaching me how to fall in love with my community when I couldn't love myself. Rest in Power!

I did not know Leslie Feinberg personally, but I did know her work, both fictional and non-fiction. It has been instrumental in my academic career, first as a student, now as an educator. Together with the works of Minnie Bruce Pratt her writing has inspired me to keep on fighting to be better than myself.
I want to tell Minnie Bruce and the rest of Leslie's family that the work Leslie has started will continue through the work of many.

Dear Minnie-Bruce and family, my condolences on the loss of your beloved Leslie. Words cannot express enough what a beautiful human being he was--but you already knew that--what an inspiration to me and to others, what a wonderful friend and colleague he was. It was an honor to know him and be able to work alongside him, as well as a privilege. After reading the lovely signed copy of Stone Butch Blues he gave me and to this day, I still see it as a film. His words are so poetic and powerful they were projected upon my mind. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Remember, his body was only a vessel for his amazing spirit and that spirit will be with you forever.
MInnie Bruce, my heart is breaking for you. You and Leslie made me believe in true love. I truly admired Leslie and do admire you. Please accept my deepest sympathies, and keep your cherished memories close to your heart.
I never knew this remarkable woman, but I wish I had known her. Her life mattered in so many ways and her contributions to human rights are genuine and lasting. My condolences to Minnie Bruce Pratt.
