Carmella V. (Mignacca) DeMauro Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Carmella V. (Mignacca) DeMauro, 94, passed away July 14, 2020 at The Cottages in Cicero. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Frank and Mary Catherine (Damico) Mignacca. A communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Carm retired in 1985 as a lab technician from General Electric after 22 years of service. In retirement, she and her husband Daniel enjoyed traveling with the Catholic Golden Agers. After her husband's death, she took many trips with her best friend Maria Misita to Florida and Italy. Most of all, she enjoyed her daily coffee visits with her sisters. Carm loved cooking, baking, and sharing her special eggplant parmesan with her family. Most of all, she looked forward to preparing large meals for her weekly Sunday visits from her children and grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Daniel J. DeMauro, Sr. in 1993; five siblings, Phillip Mignacca, Mary Carulli, Paul Mignacca, Nancy Aloi and Virginia Albanese. Carmella is survived by her children, Joseph (Connie) DeMauro of Liverpool, Frieda (Leonard) Vannelli of N. Syracuse, Frank J. (Linda) DeMauro of Brewerton, Daniel (Linda) DeMauro, Jr. of Syracuse and Mary (Anthony) Barraco of Liverpool; 13 grandchildren, Michelle DeMauro, Daniel (Chantelle) DeMauro, Natalie Ann (Paul) Fisher, Leonard Vannelli, Frank A. (Jessica) DeMauro, Mary (Jay Landry) DeMauro, Michael, Nicole, Daniel and Corey DeMauro, Anthony Barraco III, John and Joe Barraco; 2 great-grandchildren, Mia Fisher and Franklin DeMauro; sister-in-law, Theresa DeMauro; brother-in-law, Peter Italiano, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to express our appreciation to Carm's caregivers who made such a difference in her life, especially Yolanda & Lisa Fero and Tracy Vaughn. We would like to also thank the staff in house #31 at the Cottages in Cicero for their care of our mother for the past year and a half. Special thanks to Laura Russell for her love and endless face times during the last five months of forced separation due to the pandemic. A Funeral Mass in celebration of Carmella’s life will be held at 12 pm (noon) on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Church, Syracuse. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, July 17, 2020 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
