Gerald H. Wood Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gerald H. Wood, 90, of Liverpool, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family on June 21, 2022. He was born in Malone, NY, son of the late Clarence and Leila (Griffen) Wood. Gerald attended Hamilton Central High and graduated from Colgate University. He retired in 1991 as a Claims Supervisor from Liberty Mutual. Gerald was a longtime communicant of Divine Mercy Parish in Central Square. He enjoyed traveling and above all, loved spending time with his family. He is predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Marianne Wood; children, Paul J. Wood and Patricia J. Wood; his son-in-law, John J. Louise, Jr., and his brother, William A. Wood. Gerald is survived by his children, Mark D. (Pamela) Wood, M. Anne (Robert) Zysk, Michael J. (Nancy) Wood, Stephen P. (Maribeth) Wood, Lisa D. Louise; and his daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Wood; grandchildren, Gregory M. Wood, Kristina M. (John) French, Amy L. (Chad) Schwartz, Katie J. (John) Sweeney, Andrew S. (Kathleen) Zysk, Danielle T. (Spencer) Duke, Tyler G. (Elizabeth) Zysk, Alana M. (Freide) Pineda, Olivia M. (Kyle) Guppy, Angela C. Wood, Meredith W. (Jason) Tanner and Patrick R. Wood; 20 great-grandchildren; his brother, Thomas A. Wood, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thank you to Fr. Christopher Seibt for his pastoral care of Gerald and his family. Also, special thanks to the team at Elderwood for their love and care of Gerald, especially Larry, Heather, Jeffrey, Brian, Agnes, Walter, Mary T. and Lynsey. A Funeral Mass in celebration of Gerald’s life will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Divine Mercy Parish in Central Square, NY, followed by interment at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Baldwinsville, NY. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Monday, June 27, 2022 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
