John M. "Butch" Dembowski

March 13, 1943 - December 5, 2020

John M. “Butch” Dembowski, 77, of Liverpool, passed away unexpectedly on December 5, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Matthew S. and Margaret (Fazio) Dembowski. John was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from OCRRA after many dedicated years. After retirement, he worked at the Holiday Inn Express in Cicero. John was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching sports, especially SU and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved spending time with friends and family, especially his beloved grandchildren. John is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Gloria S. (Parsnow) Dembowski; two sons, Steven M. (Lisa) Dembowski and John V. Dembowski; four grandchildren, Sara, Emily, Kaitlyn, and Hailey “Bug”; a daughter-in-law, April Dembowski; his sister, Frances Detore, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 10 am – 12 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of John’s life at noon with Military Honors at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Private burial will take place in North Syracuse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
