Joseph John Kristopowitz, Jr.

Joseph John Kristopowitz, Jr., 72, of Liverpool, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on October 22, 2021. He was born in Southampton, NY, son of the late Wanda M. (Dankowski) and Joseph J. Kristopowitz, Sr. Joe graduated from CCBI and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He started his career at Monson Welding for 14 years, went on to work at Ames Taping Tools, and retired from Fuji Photo. Joe had a love for the local auto racing scene; he spent many Saturday nights at Oswego Speedway and traveled to see the 410 Sprint Cars; he also loved DIRT racing and enjoyed bowling. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Susan Kristopowitz. Joe is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dorothy Carpenter Kristopowitz; three children: Marvin (Gayle) Brew, Bryan, and Amanda (John) Arndt; two grandsons: Alexander Brew and Griffin Arndt; a sister, Emily (Ray) Smeraldo, and his best buddies, Jake and Junior. Special thanks to the EMT’s and the crew from NOVA for the outstanding job they performed. Also, to Officer Kevin Swartwood of the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Dept. A private funeral service in celebration of Joe’s life will be held at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. He will be laid to rest in Pine Plains Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s name to Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, 750 E.
