Lawrence A. LaTour

April 19, 1953 - December 16, 2020

Lawrence A. LaTour, 67 years old, was called home by Christ on December 16, 2020. Larry was born in Bennington, VT to the late Alfred T LaTour, Sr. and Evelyn Myers LaTour. His family later moved to Utica, NY where he grew up & was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School, where he made friendships that lasted a lifetime. After graduating, he started his insurance career at Utica Mutual Insurance. He later expanded his career to Kemper Insurance where he met his bride of 39 years, MaryAnn. He completed his career in 2018 at CNA Insurance after 32 years of service. Larry was a strong believer in family. He was an amazing father & the biggest supporter for his children Michael & Danielle. He supported them in all their endeavors & guided them with his wisdom & love. Larry was a very kind, thoughtful, & sensitive person. He always had a smile on his face, and he held his friends and family close to his heart. Larry lived life to the fullest, always having fun, traveling & sharing time with his family & friends. Larry was an avid horse player and loved to cheer his horses’ home in the summer spa days of Saratoga. He was well known for his analysis “Larry’s Picks” & loved spending time with his friends from the forum Up in Class. Larry will be greatly missed. He made our world a better place. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Alfred & Evelyn; his sisters, Donna LaTour Elefante & Evelyn LaTour Amerosa; his brother, Arthur LaTour; his brother-in-law, Frank Amerosa; his beloved son, Lawrence A. LaTour, Jr., & his faithful pet Bridget. Larry is survived by his loving wife, MaryAnn (Milmore) LaTour; his son, Michael LaTour, and his daughter, Danielle LaTour. He is also survived by his siblings, Alfred T LaTour, Jr. (Annette), Fred LaTour (Diane), Joseph LaTour (Margaret), Chris LaTour (Karen), Richard LaTour (Judy), and Scott LaTour, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 3 – 6 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Lawrence’s life at 6 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. To attend the service remotely, please visit Lawrence’s tribute page at tjpfuneralhome.com on Tuesday at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made in his honor to one of the following causes close to his heart: Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, to help bring some happiness to the kids in our community who need it, or Notre Dame High School, where he was given a gift to attend this school & would love to pass the opportunity forward. https://www.upstatefoundation.org/page.aspx?pid=298 http://www.notredameutica.org/giving
