Mary F. (Riley) Strack

March 20, 1950 - March 27, 2022

Mary Francis (Riley) Strack, 72, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Crouse Hospital. Born in Syracuse on March 20, 1950, to the late John and Patricia (Bishop) Riley, she was a graduate of the Franciscan Academy and BOCES. Mary was an LPN at the Justice Center for many years and gave her life to help others. She was also employed as a bus driver for Centro. Mary was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Baldwinsville. Mary loved going to the beach, spending time with family, playing cards, going on adventures with friends, watching SU & Yankee sports, but mostly she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved watching them play baseball, softball, dance recitals, marching band shows, attending the Syracuse Nationals and above all getting ice cream with them. Mary was very proud of all their accomplishments. And she'll be deeply missed. Along with her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, William C. “Bill” Strack; sister, Patricia Lipchak; and her nephew/godson, Christopher Scriber. Mary is survived by her children; Elizabeth (Michael) Kasch, Mary Beth Ritschel, Teresa (Doni) Blanchard, and Timothy Ritschel; grandchildren, Jessica (Danny) Delutis, Colin (Hannah) McElligott, Michael Kasch, Jr., Tyler Salmon, Zachary Salmon, Noah Blanchard, Matthew Kasch, and Nicolette Kasch; siblings, Michael (Debra) Riley, John (Debra) Riley, Matthew (Cathy) Riley, Thomas Riley, and Timothy (Star) Riley. A funeral mass in celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 12:30 PM in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 47 Syracuse St., Baldwinsville. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call on Friday, April 1, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kristen and the nurses on the 4th floor at Crouse Hospital for their care of Mary.
