Orville M. Snyder

Orville M. Snyder, 89, of Brewerton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Nuangola, PA to the late Irene (Merrel) and Theodore Snyder, Orville was a graduate of Simmons School of Embalming and Mortuary Science and a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed as a Licensed Funeral Director and Pathology Assistant at St. Joseph’s Hospital for over 33 years. Orville enjoyed photography, and traveling, especially trips to Myrtle Beach in the wintertime. Along with his parents, Orville was predeceased by his 3 brothers, Theodore, Gerald, and Harry. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Janet (Hook) Snyder; his 2 sons, Earl, and Jeffrey Snyder; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service in celebration of Orville’s life will take place on Monday, September 20, 2021, at 10:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Syracuse. Family and friends may call on Sunday, September 19, 2021, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
