Paula M. Ukrainec

July 23, 1955 - December 29, 2021

Paula M. Ukrainec, 66, of Chittenango, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Stanley and Rose (Sorokac) Ukrainec. Paula graduated from North Syracuse High School in 1976. She retired in 2019 from Precision Contractors at Gateway. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Cicero. Paula loved all animals and especially enjoyed feeding Sandy Squirrel. She enjoyed her many visits to Florida and Disney World, The Wild in Chittenango, Rosamond Gifford Zoo, and her annual visits to the NYS Fair, where she met up with her friends, Wayne Mahar and the Channel 3 News Team. She also enjoyed watching General Hospital and attending the Oz-Stravaganza in Chittenango. In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by her cousin, Richard Piasecki, her grandparents, many aunts and uncles, and her beloved cat Jasmine. Paula is survived by her sister and best friend, Roseann (Robert) Robbins; her buddy, Nikolas the kitty; close friends: David and Sharon Hiltbrand, Matt Cacossa and Robert Crabtree; cousins: Liz (Marty) Sweeney, Susan Piasecki, Diane Charuk, Nan (Richard) Bird, Patty Usher, Arthur Usher, Bill (Debbie) Ukrainec, Howard (Janice) LaFave, Rosemarie Pasho, Anthony and Paul Bocola. Special Thank You to David and Sharon for their love and support and thank you for the care Paula received in the brain injury unit at St. Camillus for 15 months prior to her coming home in November 2020. A very special Thank You to her brother-in-law, Robert for all he did to welcome her into our household. Her presence here will be greatly missed but her loving spirit will always be remembered. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from 9 am – 10 am at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Paula’s life at 11 am in Sacred Heart Church of Cicero. She will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery, Chittenango. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Priscilla Mahar Animal Welfare Foundation, 8787 River Watch, Baldwinsville, NY 13027, North Area Meals on Wheels, 413 Church St., N. Syracuse, NY 13212 or to a charity of choice.
