Philip Anthony Brady, 53, of Manlius, NY, passed away on February 21, 2021 after a short illness. Born in Greensboro, NC, on July 1, 1967, he moved to Syracuse as a child with his family. He is predeceased by his parents, Philip T. and Sheila A. Brady. He is survived by his siblings, Megan (Steve) Balderston of Clarendon Hills, IL; Barbara (Scott) Hakim of Greenwich, CT; and Michael (Jennifer) Brady of Fayetteville, NY. He was the beloved uncle of Celia and James Balderston; Philip, Elizabeth, Caroline, Grace, Katherine, and Patrick Brady; Lily, Emma, and Henry Hakim; and the treasured nephew of Brian Brady, James Rumely, Kate Rumely, Mary Lou (Frank) Wilson, Bill (Elyse) Rumely, Beth Rumely, and Tom (Astrid) Rumely, and cousin to many. He also leaves behind many beloved friends who will miss his sly wit and kind heart. Phil was a graduate of Jamesville-DeWitt High School and Nazareth College, where he earned a degree in theater. He worked alongside his brother and late father for the last 15 years at H.P. Mile as a Quality Control Inspector and enjoyed his part-time work with Regal Cinemas. In recent years, Phil spent his happiest moments in improv comedy with the Syracuse Improv Collective and acting in local productions for Central New York Playhouse and other community theater groups. His most memorable role was that of Lennie, in Of Mice and Men, for which he was nominated for a 2017 Best Leading Actor SALT Award. Private funeral services entrusted to THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Due to COVID-19, there will be no calling hours at this time. A celebration of life service for family and friends will be held this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phil’s honor to Central New York Playhouse at www.cnyplayhouse.org.
