Robert "Bob" Anthony Toro Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert “Bob” Anthony Toro, 79 of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, January 23, 2022, surrounded by his wife and children. Bob is predeceased by his parents Augustine and Rita (Porcelli) of Utica NY. Bob is survived by the love of his life, wife, Rosemary of 57 years and his loving children; Michelle (Gerry) Clark of Liverpool, Karen Smith of Liverpool, Amy Toro-Rollins of Rochester, and Rob (Robin)Toro of Liverpool. Grandchildren; Amanda (Chris) DeVay, Holly (Cameron) Pieklik, Alicia and Ryan O’Neil, Dominic and Iris Rollins and Francesca and Isabella Toro. Great Grandchildren CJ and Braedon DeVay. Bob is also survived by his sister, Patricia (Bob) Scalise of Utica and his brother, Don Toro of North Carolina. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bob grew up in Utica NY, graduated from Proctor High School in 1960 and went on to Utica College, earning a bachelor’s in science in Mathematics. Following this, Bob spent the next 32 years of his life dedicated to the Federal Government Treasury Departments, Internal Revenue Division. Bob was a Special Agent in the Criminal Investigative Unit, where he earned the highest recognition in his division. He loved the work he did and his colleagues, which was supported by the years of friendship after his retirement in 1994. First and foremost, Bob was the epitome of a loving and devoted family man, who was a kind and compassionate soul. To know Bob, was to love him. He enjoyed spending summer weekends with his family, at camp, in Otter Lake, NY. Despite being old fashioned and cautious about technology, Bob educated himself about computers and grew to enjoy his iPad for emails to communicate with family. Not only was he an avid reader of James Patterson books, but he also loved reading the actual daily newspaper, doing the crossword and sudoku puzzles. He enjoyed playing cards, specifically Pinochle and Pitch with his wife and friends. His mind was sharp, and he planned things until the day he passed away. Bob truly managed his illnesses with strength and grace. His legacy will not be forgotten. He would say his greatest accomplishment in life was being a devoted father. He had a heart of gold, in which now God holds. Bob will be profoundly missed by all that knew and loved him. Bob and Rosemary loved their church family, which has provided a sense of peace and comfort during this grand loss. To pay your respects to this extraordinary man, calling hours will be held from 1:00 – 3:45pm followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the Redeemer Evangelical Covenant Church 7565 Morgan Rd.
