Just heard of the passing of Father Lou and am saddened. Lou married my wife and I 30+ years ago and we were friends prior to that. We go as far back as him working for my dad at EW Edwards many ...many years ago! He also officiated at my dad's funeral.
So sorry to hear he has passed away.....He and his family are in our prayers.....Many laughs with this 'good guy'.

Fr. Lou is such a huge loss to us all. His warmth and sincerity was priceless. He adored his family and bore their burdens and suffering as his own. He was brilliant and so well spoken. We all loved his talks and wisdom. He has been there for every milestone and I will miss him as a friend. We are so grateful to have him in our lives. Peace and love to you all.
I came to know Louie through his cousin Barb and my partner Larry. Although we didn't spend enough time together, we could always pick up right where we left off, as though we had just spoken the day before. Louie was kind, understanding and compassionate. He was of enormous help to our family when our sister was a resident at Loretto; his homilies always spoke to the residents there and reflected his deep faith in his fellow humans and God. I know Louie was welcomed into Heaven by God and all the angels, and that he is watching over all of us and guiding us from his new home in Heaven.
My prayers are for his family, whom he adored. I hope your glorious memories will sustain you.

Fr. Lou was so very caring and wonderful guy. He was my priest at St. Charles of Borromeo church, and I always looked forward to going. Then I had the pleasure of meeting up with him at St. Camillus. I will always remember the day when a few of us got together and spoke of our sick or ill family members. The way he made me feel after talking about my son who was going through chemo at the time. I will always hold that conversation close in my heart. I'm very sorry for your loss. He will be truly missed. May he rest in peace.

Father Lou was my mentor & a kind dear soul. He was such an inspiration & wonderful friend to me & my father Bill Griffen. A true treasure. He will be dearly missed but welcomed with open arms into God's Grace. Peace. ❤️❤️
Father Lou served as our priest frequently at Loretto. He was a man that loved those we care for deeply and expressed it with great kindness. He was a beloved and faithful member of the Loretto Family. We thank him for the light he embodied that he shed abundantly on others. The Loretto Family of Care expresses their sincere condolences to his family but gives thanks for the many wonderful memories he leaves us with and gratitude for the gift of knowing him.
