Lucille J. "Lucy" (Capria) Alberici

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing on Monday, October 7th, of our beloved Lucille Alberici, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Lucy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Alberici; her daughters, Anna Alberici-Clark (Les), Tina Alberici, Lisa Alberici, and son, Joseph Alberici (Suzanne); her grandchildren, Joseph, Jesse, Jonathan, Matthew, Anthony, Kaili, Nathan, Christina, and Nicholas; and her great grandchildren, Miley, J. J., Joseph, Isabella, Michael and Wesley. The story of Lucy’s life is the story of devotion, family, and friendship. Born on November 7, 1937, to the late Harry and Caroline Capria of Liverpool, she was the older sister of Harry Capria, Jr. She graduated from Liverpool High School in 1956 and went on to become a bookkeeper at Lincoln Bank. In 1956, she met her husband, Joe, at a dance for young Italian Immigrants. Together they taught each other Italian and English and went on to get married in 1961. Lucy’s unwavering love for her husband and family was the cornerstone of her existence. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to nurturing her loved ones, always ready to lend a helping hand. Whether caring for her children or showering her grandchildren with affection, she did so without hesitation or complaint. Her home was more than just a gathering place; it was a sanctuary filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious aroma of meals prepared with care. Each dish she served was infused with love, and she had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel welcomed and cherished at her table. In addition to her nurturing spirit, Lucy was remarkably sentimental. She had a knack for saving anything and everything that touched her heart, from handwritten notes to mementos from family gatherings. These treasures, carefully preserved, tell the story of a life rich with love and connection. Each item held a memory, a moment of joy that she wanted to keep close. Her home was a tapestry of these cherished reminders, reflecting the deep bonds she formed with those she loved. As we reflect on her life, we are reminded of the countless ways she enriched our family. Her legacy will live on in the many handwritten recipes she lovingly shared, allowing us to recreate her culinary magic in our own kitchens. The blankets she crafted for her children and grandchildren will forever keep them warm, a tangible reminder of her comforting presence. Each treasure she passed down holds a piece of her heart, connecting us to her in ways that words cannot express. As we navigate this profound loss, we will deeply miss the sound of her laughter, the gentle touch of her hand, and the way she could light up a room with her smile. Though her physical presence may be gone, we find solace in the enduring love she left behind, a love that will forever remain embedded in our hearts. Lucy’s spirit will continue to guide us, reminding us to cherish one another and to live each day with kindness and compassion. A funeral Mass in celebration of Lucy’s life will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at Epiphany Parish (Formerly St. Joseph the Worker Church) 1001 Tulip St., Liverpool. She will be laid to rest in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY 13212.
