Patsy Polimino

Patsy Polimino, 75, of Liverpool, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Joseph and Carmella (Malara) Polimino. Patsy graduated from Central High School in 1958 and went on to serve in the Army National Guard of NY honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant. Patsy was employed by J.V. Sgroi Co., Inc. for nearly 40 years as a Field Superintendent and Project Manager. He was instrumental in the completion of many high profile projects in CNY; among those, the additions and alterations to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Crouse Hospital, Community General Hospital, Hotel Syracuse, The Jewish Home of CNY, Syracuse Chamber of Commerce, ConMed Corporation in Utica and many schools in Upstate, NY. His dedication to the company and to the many workers he supervised was unparalleled. Patsy was currently employed at Thomas J. Pirro Jr. Funeral Home where he was also instrumental in the construction build out of the new funeral home in 2010. He was an avid golfer and 42 year member of Lakeshore Yacht & Country Club. Patsy was also an accomplished bowler and member of many championship teams in the prestigious Greater Syracuse League. He was predeceased by his brother, Dominick “Nick” Polimino and his sister, Jennie Raterman. Patsy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carol (Sgroi) Polimino; his son, Christopher (Mary) Polimino of Cicero; his daughter, Marlyse (Thomas) Pirro, Jr. of N. Syracuse; three grandchildren, Alexis Polimino, Thomas J. Pirro III and Patsy Michael “Mickey” Pirro; four siblings, Josephine Eskenazi of CA, Santo (Sandy) Polimino of Liverpool, Palma Scicchitano of Manlius and Mary (Joseph) Gorgoni of Fayetteville, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. His family would like to thank St. Joseph’s Hospital for the special care he received in the past, and also to the staff and nurses on 4 South at Crouse Hospital for going above and beyond with their care and compassion of Patsy, as well as Dr. Bingham, Dr. Alpert and Dr. Augustine. A Funeral Mass in celebration of Patsy’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Family and friends may call from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Private entombment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Donations may be made to Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, NY 13208.
