Valerie Anne (Ferrara) Bolognone

Valerie Anne (Ferrara) Bolognone was born on January 28, 1981 and passed away unexpectedly on September 16, 2016. She was just 35. Valerie leaves behind her loving husband Michael Bolognone; two sons, Logan (5) and Dexter (just ten weeks); her loving parents, Joseph Ferrara and Debra (Cornell) Ferrara (Auburn); her maternal grandmother, Barbara Schulte; her maternal grandfather, Clark Cornell; several aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces and friends. Valerie was born in Greenville NC, relocated with her family to San Diego, CA in 1982, then to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1992 where she graduated from Kearns High School. She later attended Community College in Utah before moving to Syracuse in 2005, where she met and married her husband Michael. Valerie was part of the North Central Church family where she attended regularly. She loved her job at POMCO, where she was employed for the past six years and made many friends. She worked as a strategic analyst in the Claims Strategy Department for the past three years. Valerie was a loving and devoted wife, a wonderful mother; she kept an immaculate home, and was the joy of her parents' lives. That joy grew exponentially as she brought two adorable little boys into the family. And her family always came first. Valerie was adventurous and loved to travel; having enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Toronto, and Las Vegas with her husband Michael before the babies came. They learned to scuba dive together, rode motorcycles, enjoyed wine tours, and took trips to state parks and waterfalls. She loved her coffee, and going out for coffee was one of her favorite things. Valerie was a woman of strong Christian faith who made friends easily and enjoyed their company. Valerie was a delight to be around; always courteous and respectful, and had a wonderful sense of humor. While her family is tremendously saddened by her loss, we take comfort in the knowledge that she is resting safely in the arms of her Savior, whom she loved and served, always giving of herself in so many ways. Valerie was and is so loved by all of us who knew her. She will be in our hearts always, and will be greatly missed. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 4-7 PM at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. A funeral service in celebration of Valerie’s life will be held at North Central Church located at 7463 Buckley Road, North Syracuse on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow immediately afterward at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 6020 Lake Avenue, Auburn, NY.
