Adele (Belli) Fresina's Obituary
Adele (Belli) Fresina, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday at Iroquois Nursing Home. Born in Troy, NY, she moved to Syracuse in the 1940’s. During WWII, she worked at the Watervliet Arsenal in support of the war efforts. Adele then went on to work at General Electric for many years before ending her working career with her retirement from St. Joseph’s Hospital. Adele was an avid baker and loved cooking for her family. Her chocolate cake was a mainstay at most birthday parties. She was a devout catholic and was a longtime parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Church before it closed.
Adele was predeceased by her husband, James in 2006, her son Richard in 1998, and her mother Mary Vatrano in 2010.
She is survived by her sons, James Jr. (Deborah) Fresina, Ronald (Karen) Fresina; six grandchildren, Lainie (Louis) Falvo, Melissa (Jeff) Peckins, Jeffrey, Nicholas (Dana Fresina), Shawn, Tiffany; seven great-grandchildren, Louie, Olivia, Madison, Ava, Neeko, Rocco and Gianna.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 am on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Adele’s life at 9:30 am in The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 259 E. Onondaga St., Syracuse. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse.
