Adrienne (Adamo) Mercier's Obituary
Adrienne (Adamo) Mercier also known as Mama, Mere Mere, and Tata, 86, formerly of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on August 8th surrounded by her family. Originally from Tunis (Tunisia), she was born on February 28th, 1936, to the late Marie (Tumbarello) and Andrea (Andre) Adamo. In 1967, Adrienne, her husband Albert, and their two small children emigrated through Ellis Island to reside in Syracuse for many years before moving to Liverpool. She worked at Learbury’s Clothing for 23 years and retired from Eagle Comtronics on her 65th birthday in 2001. Family came first to Adrienne, and she always wanted to feed everyone when they would stop in for a visit. She was also known for making the best Italian cookies!! She will be terribly missed by all.
Besides her parents, Adrienne was predeceased by her loving husband of 24 years, Albert Mercier in 1982, as well as her brother, Andre Adamo, nephew, Andre Adamo, and niece, Anna Marie Adamo.
She is survived by her son, John (Donna) of Arizona, daughter, Marie (James) Avery of Liverpool, sister-in-law, Catherine “Tina” Adamo of Liverpool; grandchildren, Melissa (Ty) Daulton of Arizona, Mike (Fiona) Avery of Baldwinsville; two great-grandsons with a third due in October, great-granddaughter born in August, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Loretto Cunningham 13th floor for the loving care given to Mama for the past 5 years.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Adrienne’s life will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 9:30 am in the Epiphany Parish at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 425 Beechwood Ave, Liverpool, NY. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
