Alan T. Sly's Obituary
Alan T. Sly, 78, of Eastwood, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2020 after a short illness. Al was born in Syracuse to the late Thomas and Marjorie (Brown) Sly and graduated from Eastwood High School. He later served in the Army National Guard and did his basic training at Fort Dix, NJ and weekends at Fort Drum. Al attended the United Methodist Church in his younger days where he was a member of the MYF and played on the church basketball team coached by Billy Gabor. He was a printer at Syracuse Typesetting along with other various jobs over the years. Al was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed taking his nephews to the Syracuse Chiefs games.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his nephews, Ralph J. Napolitano and William J. Napolitano.
Alan is survived by his sister, Marilyn Kurlowicz; nephews, James Napolitano and John Napolitano; along with several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Upstate University Hospital.
