Albert L. Almonte's Obituary
Albert L. Almonte, 90, of Syracuse, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016. Albert was a lifetime resident of Syracuse and a communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He was an Army veteran and retired from General Electric after 36 years of service. He was an avid bowler and also a former member of the NYS Baseball Umpires Association.
He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Helen L. Almonte in 2015; his sister, Lucy Allegro, and brothers, Pasquale, Fred and Paul.
Albert is survived by his children, James (Deborah) Almonte, Patricia (Gary) Kinslow, Leonard (Karen) Almonte, Robert Almonte, and Barbara (Mike) Dunn; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 8:30 AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Albert’s life at 9:30 AM in Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Park Ave., Syracuse. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
