Albert P. Cima, Jr.'s Obituary
ALBERT P. CIMA, JR. humbly entered into eternity to meet his sweet Lord on November 7, the day of his 34th wedding anniversary, leaving a legacy of love and service.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Diane Cima, who lovingly referred to him as “honey” or “Big Al” as well as his sister, Kathleen Cima, Uncle Don Wodarczyk, Cima/Morano/Cirillo families and many cousins.
He is predeceased by his sister, Lucille, mother and father, Rose and Albert, Sr., in-laws Tony, Betty and Lucy Perra. He will be sorely missed by Joseph and Aileen Arcidino, granddaughters Bella, Ally and Chloe, Luci Blackburn and grandchildren Faith, Emily, “Big Vincent,” great grandson “Little Vincent,” and granddaughter Myia McCarthy, great granddaughters Aubrey and Bailey as well as the entire Perra clan – Fred and Karen, Anthony, Marie, Ed and Kim, Dave and Renee’, Lisa and Lon, Deb and Jerry, many special nieces and nephews and their babies, and Al’s Godson, Christian Perra.
Al served with honor in the United States Army, Engineer Corps, rising to the rank of Staff Sargent as well as service in the New York Army National Guard, was a Vietnam War veteran, graduating from Morrisville Technical College majoring in Wood Product Engineering, was an expert cabinetmaker, skilled in AutoCAD and employed by Tom Perry Furniture, Wood Etc., Christiana Millwork, Exhibits and More, E. M. Boland and R. B. Woodcraft.
He lived his Catholic faith quietly and humbly as a daily communicant, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Rosary, Divine Mercy prayers and his favorite Saint - St. John Neuman. The family is grateful to St. Joseph’s hospital for Al’s spiritual care and to doctors and nurses (especially Paul, who referred to Al as a “gentle giant”) for the skilled treatment and respect for life.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2021 (Veteran’s Day) at St. Daniel Church, 3004 Court Street in Syracuse NY followed by interment with military honors in Assumption Cemetery. The family requests that all attending wear masks.
Donations may be made to the family’s special charities: Birthright of Onondaga County, St. Raphael Ministries, Sacred Heart Enthronement Ministry/Revive Hope and Healing, 40 Days for Life and The Samaritan Center.
