Albert M. "Al" Paparo's Obituary
Albert M. ‘Al’ Paparo, 83, of DeWitt, passed away at Crouse Hospital on Friday, February 13, 2026, surrounded by his wife and sons. Born in Syracuse, he was the son of Wanda A. (Podolak) Paparo and Alfonso ‘Alan Paro’ Paparo. Al ‘Butch’ graduated from Assumption Academy in 1960. Following graduation, he joined the Army Reserves and served for 6 years. His career in sales spanned over 40 years, first at General Electric and ultimately at Case Supply, Inc. He was also the co-owner and accountant for Tiny Tot Nursery School and Daycare Center for 9 years. An avid sports fan who excelled in football, basketball, and especially baseball, he rooted steadfastly for the hometown Orange and New York Yankees. He was an attentive husband, father, and grandfather whose dedication and hard work ensured his family was always cared for and supported. He was a loyal friend and enjoyed spending time with his close friends.
Albert’s parents predeceased him. He is survived by Joann E. Paparo of DeWitt, his wife of 57 years; two sons, Michael (Michelle) Paparo of Syracuse and Stephen (Richard Ingles) Paparo of South Hadley, MA; and his granddaughter, Morgan Paparo.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 10:15 – 11:15 AM at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee St., DeWitt, NY, followed by an 11:30 am funeral Mass in celebration of Albert’s life. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, DeWitt, NY.
