Albert M. Pisegna's Obituary
Albert M. Pisegna, 98, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2022, at Francis House surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse to the late Carmen and Philomena (Basile) Pisegna. Al was a member of “The Greatest Generation” and grew up during the depression. He graduated from Assumption Academy in 1942 and was a member of the Assumption Academy 1942 Championship Basketball team. Albert was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, serving during WWII in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. He received a commendation for outstanding service aboard the S.S. Robin Sherwood when during a storm the ship was in danger of capsizing. Al retired after 35 dedicated years as a draftsman for General Electric.
Al was a lifetime New York Yankee fan and enjoyed softball and golf. He was a member and past president of the IAAC, and Bishop Ludden High School Athletic Booster Club. Above all, Albert enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially all his beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Rosemary; his son; Mark; his brother, George, and a sister, Marie Pitonzo.
Albert is survived by his three children, Michael (Kathy) Pisegna of Syracuse, Rosanne (Matthew) Earley of Clay and Matthew (Jennifer) Pisegna of Liverpool; his sister, Irene Laquidari; his five grandchildren, Bartholomew, Beth Ann, Brian, Daniel, and Marissa Rose; his seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, from 10 am – 12 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY, followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Albert’s life at 12:15 pm at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.
