Alex J. Cimino, Sr.'s Obituary
Alex J. Cimino, Sr., 54, of Syracuse, passed away at Crouse Hospital with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Alex served with the Syracuse Fire Department for 20 years before his retirement and was a member of the Syracuse Firefighters Local 280. He was also a 34 year member of the Lyncourt Volunteer Fire Department. Alex was an avid NY Yankees fan, loved the outdoors and spent as much time as he could fishing and swimming. A loving husband and father, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Alex’s love, his caring ways and affection will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Alex is survived by the love of his life and wife of 21 years, Michelle A. (Dippold) Cimino; his three loving children, Nicole M. Cimino, Alex J. Cimino, Jr. and Michael J. Cimino, all of Syracuse; his parents, Alex and Marian (Palmisano) Cimino of Syracuse; his sister, Maria (Twan Gyder) Cimino of Syracuse; his father and mother-in-law, John & Carol Dippold of Syracuse; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Kelli Dippold of Syracuse and his three nephews, John, Jacob and Jordan Dippold.
Alex’s family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Scalzo, Dr. Kreitzer and their staff for their special care of Alex.
A Funeral service in celebration of Alex’s Life will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, December 19, 2014 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
