Alex Fred "LaLa" Cimino's Obituary
Alex Fred “LaLa” Cimino, 87, of Syracuse, went to be with the Lord and his son Alex on July 4, 2015. He was born in Syracuse and was the co-owner of Cimino Brothers Produce Company/ King's Table Produce. He was also the co-owner of Cimino Brothers, Bronstein and Rovner, Framer Brown. Alex was the office manager at Salt City Produce. After retirement Alex worked at Riccelli Produce and Mentos Produce part-time. He played Semi Pro Football for The Blue and The Grey/Syracuse Bisons. Alex was Past President of IAAC and a member of the IAAC bowling league and IAAC Golf league. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church and North High Windy Hillers. Alex served as Committee Chairman for the Lyncourt Cub Scouts, coached Lyncourt Little League and was a very active member with Bishop Grimes Booster Club. He was an avid New York Yankee’s and Giant’s fan and enjoyed watching Syracuse University sports.
He was predeceased by his cherished son, Alex Joseph Cimino, Sr. , his parents, Giuseppe Cimino and Carmella D'Agostino Cimino, siblings, Benjamin Cimino, Rose Cimino, Carmella Cimino Campolo, Catherine Cimino, Josephine Cimino Canestraro, Angelo (Jilly) Cimino, Angelo (Molly) Cimino, Mary Cimino, Frank (Cheech) Cimino and Angeline Cimino Morano.
Alex is survived by the love of his life, his beloved wife of 64 years, Marian "Peps" (Palmisano) Cimino; daughter, Maria Ann "Tink" Cimino (Twan Gyder); daughter-in-law, Michelle Dippold Cimino; adoring grandchildren, Nicole Michelle Cimino, Alex Joseph Cimino, Jr. and Michael John Cimino; granddogs, Dash, Patches, Brutus and Enzo; many nieces and nephews.
The Cimino Family would like to thank the caring staff at Menorah Park.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Alex’s life at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. The Holy Name Society will recite their ritual at 3:30 pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 followed by calling hours from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
