Alexander Nicholas Stagnitta's Obituary
Alexander N. Stagnitta, 80, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011. He was born in Syracuse, NY to the late Egidia and Frank Stagnitta. Alex served in the US Navy for 3 years. He then worked for Easy Washing Machine Company in Syracuse for approximately 10 years before being employed with General Electric Television Division and ultimately moving he and his family down to Chesapeake, VA where he worked as an Industrial Design Engineer until his retirement in 1987. He was predeceased by his sister, Josie Filipcowski. Alex is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Stagnitta; his children, Sharon (Michael) Crosby; Sandra (Stewart) Kuper and Frank (Kim) Stagnitta; grandchildren, Moira Crosby, Stephanie Kuper, Sarah Kuper and Josie Stagnitta; brother, Joseph Stagnitta; sister, Mary (Nick) Morina also several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral mass will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church with entombment to follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
