Alexandria M. "Sandy" Corless' Obituary
Alexandria M. “Sandy” Corless, 79, of Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Born August 5, 1938 to Thekla “Anna” Eglof Gross and Carl Gross of Yonkers, N.Y., she was the youngest of five siblings. Sandy graduated from Solvay High School in 1957 and devoted her early years to raising her three children before going to work for the School of Management of SU and also LaFayette Country Club.
She was predeceased by four siblings.
Sandy is survived by her son, Richard J. Corless; two daughters, Lisa M. Corless (Carmen Branca) and Kimberly A. Corless; six grandchildren, Nathan A. Paolini, Collin J. Corless, Trevor R. Corless, Madelyn C. Anderson, Robert L. Collett, and Leven R. Collett; nephews, Kenneth Korcz, Louis Haydu, Thomas Haydu, Gary Haydu, and Michael Gross.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Sandy’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery, Warners. Family and friends may call from 3:00 – 5:00 pm on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
