Alfonzo "Ralph" Bova's Obituary
Alfonzo "Ralph" Bova, 91, of DeWitt, passed away Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, the son of Philip and Josephine (Fricano) Bova. Alfonzo served with the U.S. Army during WWII where he was an amateur boxer. He was a member of the VFW Post 2893. He was also a member of the Madonna Assunta Society. Alfonzo was employed with Crucible Steel for 35 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Antoinette (Palermo) Bova in 2011, his four brothers, James, Jack, Sam and Albert, his sister, Mary and his son-in-law, Duane Campbell. Alfonzo is survived by his daughter, Josephine (Al Brisson) Campbell of Jamesville; granddaughter, Lucretia Campbell-Klish (Matthew) of DeWitt; two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Adrianna Klish along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in Holy Cross Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
