Alfred J. VanCott's Obituary
Alfred J. VanCott, 62, of Syracuse, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at Upstate University Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Hazel (Cardarelli) and Edward VanCott, Sr. Alfred was a driver for American Limo. He served on the church board at Word of Life Assembly of God and volunteered on the creative arts music team and was also involved in his life group. He enjoyed singing, watching NCIS and Last Man Standing. Most of all, Alfred loved spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Concetta “Connie” (Battaglia) VanCott; daughters, Elizabeth VanCott (Josh Lennon) of Rochester, Jennifer VanCott Nelepovitz (William Nelepovitz II) of Syracuse and Rebecca VanCott (Jesus Vasquez) of Syracuse; two grandchildren, Alex and Aiden; brothers, Edward (Barb) VanCott, Jr. and Joseph (Karen) VanCott; several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Alfred’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Word of Life Assembly of God, 12 E. Oneida St., Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
