Alvin "Al" Sterling Laurie's Obituary
Alvin “Al” Sterling Laurie, 85, of Liverpool, passed away July 25, 2021. He was born in Wauconda, WA, son of the late Charles Cameron and Mary (Davis) Laurie. Al was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving 24 years active duty, receiving countless medals, including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He worked as a licensed nurse with the U.S. Government M.E.P.S. in Syracuse, NY. Al enjoyed watching Syracuse sports, having coffee every morning with his friends at Trackside Diner in Liverpool, and spending time family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wives, Patricia Laurie in 2018 and Shari Cuddy Laurie in 2019; siblings, Cameron Laurie, Virginia Smith and Charles S. Laurie, and his beloved dog, Misty Ann in 2021.
Al is survived by his children, Julie (Walter) Filipkowski, Walter Boland, David (Linda) Finley, Charles (Jill) Laurie, Jan (Geoff) Essel and John (Tanya) Perrigo; his brother, Harold Laurie and sister, Janet Stanton; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A prayer service, followed by entombment will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, 800 Grant Blvd., Syracuse, NY.
