Amelia C. "Meels" Campbell's Obituary
It is with broken hearts and immense sorrow, we share that our beloved Amelia “Meels” Campbell, set forth on her final journey, gently departing from this earthly life on June 30th, 2025, after a courageous 3-year battle with Neuroblastoma. At just five years old, Amelia was our little princess warrior who filled each day with laughter, courage, and unconditional love.
Though Amelia’s time with us was brief, her feisty spirit touched all who knew her. Despite her challenging journey, she always managed to give love and hope to those around her. Amelia delighted in animals, particularly her cherished kitten, Bitzy. She visited and connected with the creatures at the SPCA and Petland, reflecting her deep kindness, empathy, and wisdom far beyond her years.
She loved simple things like snuggles, soaring high on the swings at the park, quiet afternoons helping Daddy work on his much-loved cars, and playing Mommy’s ever-attentive makeup artist or nail tech. She had a precocious sense of humor and the sweetest smile. She adored her big sister Ava, looking up to her as if she hung the moon, and believed every sleepover was pure magic. Amelia embraced life with a love for frilly pink Barbie dresses, tiny high heels, and playful dabs of makeup. Ever-present was her fuzzy pink purse filled with little treasures and her trusty pretend phone.
Amelia is deeply loved and forever cherished by her parents, Martin Campbell and Bryn Winne, her big sister Ava Cherney, and grandparents Heather (Shannie) Winne, Jim (Gina) Lantry, as well as Martin and Colleen Campbell. She is also surrounded by several beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and a few best friends.
Our family is eternally grateful for the compassionate care provided by the teams at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), who lovingly supported Amelia and our family throughout her journey. The staff of 11G will always remain a part of our family, their presence is a reminder of the impact that love and care can have, even in the midst of sorrow.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M., immediately followed a memorial service in celebration of Amelia’s life at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY 13212.
Please wear pink to honor our little princess, Amelia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family's GoFundMe fundraiser https://gofund.me/0a37c0eb to assist with ongoing costs. Alternatively, donations can be made to a scholarship fund created for her loving sister Ava. Please make checks payable to Ava Cherney in care of Empower federal Credit Union.
Although she is no longer in our arms, Amelia’s spirit will forever be dancing in our hearts—our princess warrior and endless love.
