Amelia (Petrosillo) Cavino's Obituary
Amelia (Petrosillo) Cavino, 89, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Crouse Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse to the late John and Mildred (Fashana) Petrosillo. Amelia graduated from North High School and remained a Syracuse area resident her whole life. She worked in student services at Syracuse University for many dedicated years and was a diehard SU sports fan. She loved to go out dancing with her girlfriends. Her love of cooking brought everyone together, and she was devoted to spending time with family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Amelia is predeceased by her husband, Anthony D. Cavino and her brother, Raymond Petrosillo.
She is survived by her sons, Joe (Hayley) Cavino and Tony (Mary) Cavino; her grandchildren, Chris, Ari, Sarah, Max, Allie, and Anthony; her brother, Nicholas (Sylvia) Petrosillo; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. A funeral service in celebration of Amelia’s life will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 17, 2023 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
