Andrew E. Casimiro, Sr.'s Obituary
Andrew E. Casimiro, Sr., 92, of Cicero, went Home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 17, 2017 at St. Camillus surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Joseph and Catherine Casimiro. Andrew was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and was awarded the Silver Star Medal and The Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, before being Honorably Discharged. He retired from Lipe Rollway after 29 years of dedicated service. Andrew enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his loved ones.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Werner) Casimiro in 1978; his daughter, Rose Marie Casimiro; his sister, Yolanda Casimiro, and his brother, Joseph Casimiro.
Andrew is survived by seven children, Andrew E. (Roberta) Casimiro, Jr. of Virginia Beach, Catherine (Robert) Jones of N. Syracuse, John J. (Linda) Casimiro of N. Syracuse, Robert Casimiro of Liverpool, Mary Hahn of Mattydale, Susan (Harold) Dionne of Liverpool, and Ann (Timothy) Dibble of Oneida; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; his sister, Eleanor Heppell of Baldwinsville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Andrew’s life at 10:00 am in St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Rose of Lima Church or VA Medical Center.
