Angela M. (Convertino) Lattanzio's Obituary
Angela M. (Convertino) Lattanzio 95, of Syracuse, passed away on Monday May 8, 2023, with her beloved family by her side. She was born December 2, 1927, to Samuel and Anna Convertino raised in Locorotondo, Italy. She came to the United States and married her childhood sweetheart Rocco in 1950 and raised eight children.
She was the matriarch of her loving family and was known for her incredible cooking skills, which she happily passed on to family and friends. Angela was an artist, gardener and a true renaissance woman and was known for her Gift Baskets by Angela. She was the center of our family, and the glue that held us together. In her memory, we will always be a family grounded by generations of traditions and love. Mom taught us to appreciate our roots. She was a forward-thinking generous woman who always embraced others and made them feel loved.
Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Rocco “Rocky” Lattanzio, son, Samuel; daughters, Roselinda and Anna; and brothers, Peter and Gabe Convertino.
She is survived by her children, Nancy (Terry) Quigg, Vince (Susan) Lattanzio, Maria (George) Wede, Angela (Nick) Saturno, and Rocco (Natalie) Lattanzio; 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; Maria and Karen Convertino; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Angela’s life will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash Street, Syracuse, NY followed by burial in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, from 4 -7 p.m. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO, JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse.
