Angela (Cogliandro) Mirizio's Obituary
Angela (Cogliandro) Mirizio, 89, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at St. Camillus surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Dominick and Santa (Giordano) Cogliandro. Angela was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and was also a member of Holy Trinity and St. Jude Senior Groups. Angela dedicated her life to raising her family. She especially enjoyed cooking, baking, carrying on family recipes and Italian traditions, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Mirizio in 1990 and her siblings, Grace Oliva, Frank, Vincent and Mary Cogliandro.
Angela is survived by her three sons, Mark (Marie) Mirizio of Cicero, Anthony (Sharon) Mirizio of Cicero and David (Linda) Mirizio of Baldwinsville; nine grandchildren, Joseph, Alissa, Michael, Anthony, Stephen, Dominic, Nicholas, Niko and Maria; her sister, Santina (Joseph) Gannon; two sisters-in-law, MaryAnne Cogliandro and Josephine Oliva; brother-in-law, Conrad (Edna) Mirizio, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Angela’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Camillus, B unit for their care and compassion.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, July 10, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Angela’s life at 10:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
