Angela G. (Mastry) Pennacchia's Obituary
Angela G. (Mastry) Pennacchia, 73, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Crouse Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Angela was born in Syracuse to the late Nicholas and Nicolina (Lampasona) Mastry and was a 1969 graduate of Liverpool High School. She worked for Nationwide Insurance and retired as a Property Casualty Underwriter after 25 dedicated years.
Angela donated her time to volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House and Clear Path for Veterans.
She enjoyed gardening and creating stained glass art and had a great love for animals, especially her beloved dogs.
In addition to her parents, Angela is predeceased by her daughter, Sarah Cavaliere and her brother, Nicholas Mastry III.
Angela is survived by her husband of 40 years, August Pennacchia; her daughter, Leah (Charles) Blakeman; her grandchildren, Grace Scaia, and Owen and Mason Blakeman; her faithful canine companion, Bailey; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire care team on 4 South at Crouse Hospital for their care and compassion.
Visitation will take place from 12:00 – 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. A funeral Mass in celebration of Angela’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 11, 2025 in Our Lady of Pompei/ St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St. Syracuse, NY.
