Angele Khanzadian's Obituary
Angele (Agababian) Khanzadian passed peacefully at Francis House in Syracuse, NY on April 10, 2015 at the age of 82.
She is predeceased by her husband Sarkis Khanzadian, DDS.
Angele was born December 29, 1932 in Boston, MA to Vahram and Margaret Agababian. She graduated from Central High School and from Syracuse University in 1954 BA in Mathematics and Education. She married Sarkis, a veteran and dentist in 1956. Building a life in Syracuse, Angele began working as a math teacher at Smith/Central Tech HS and then completed a 20 year career working for Onondaga County.
Angele was a generous and dedicated individual who loved art, gardening, music, travel and her church. She was an active, dedicated life-long member of St. Paul Armenian Apostolic Church in Syracuse and St Hagop Armenian Church in St. Petersburg, FL. Throughout her life Angele volunteered her time to numerous organizations including St Paul Armenian Church as Chairperson and Armenian School board member, Sunday School teacher, Syracuse Symphony Guild, Onondaga Hill Middle School, Consortium for Children’s Services and Treasurer Onondaga Hill Community Association, Onondaga Hill Players theatre and Westhill Band Organization Board member.
Angele is survived by her children, Stephen (Laurie) of Syracuse, Karen, of Syracuse and Kenneth (Barbara Kane) of Cicero and her sister Adrienne (James Hayes), 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren several nieces, and nephews.
Angele’s family would like to thank the caregivers at Francis House and Crouse hospital staff for their care and compassion.
Friends may call Friday from 4-7 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. A funeral is scheduled for 11:00 A.M Saturday at St. Paul Armenian Apostolic Church, Syracuse, with a reception to follow at Drumlins. Fr. Mardiros Chevian will officiate the ceremony, and all are welcome to attend and celebrate Angele’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Paul Armenian Apostolic Church at 310 N.
