Angeline (Carapella) Massaro's Obituary
Angeline (Carapella) Massaro, 94, of Syracuse, passed away Monday at James Square surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late John and Caroline (Melfi) Carapella. Angeline was a manager and hairdresser with Chappell's Beauty Salon. She was also one of the founding members of the Cicero Senior Center. Angeline enjoyed making various crafts and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Stuart Rosenberger, Sr., her brother, Michael Carapella and three sisters, Jennie DeJohn, Virginia Olivieri and Anne Fortino. Angeline is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Leonard J. Massaro; her son, James L. (Connie) Massaro of Central Square; her daughter, Carol Rosenberger of Liverpool; six grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, a brother, Dominick Carapella of Liverpool; a sister, Grace Swanka of Westvale, along with several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass in celebration of Angeline's life will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, Dewitt. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.
