Ann G. Giacobbe's Obituary
Ann G. Giacobbe, 69, of Syracuse, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Paisley, Scotland, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Fadian) Quinn. Ann retired from Verizon Communications after working several dedicated years and holding multiple positions with the telephone company.
Ann was an avid lover of dogs. Her beloved Mastweiler Gus was her best friend. She was a lifelong parishioner of Saint John the Baptist. Her faith in God was strong and she instilled that faith into her children. She loved her family and did what she could to make sure they were ok. She loved to cook for her family and gather together to celebrate the holidays. Her nine grandchildren brought her so much joy. Giving to others brought her peace and happiness. Ann would have done anything for anyone at any time without question. She was a fierce and loyal Woman, a force. Ann did her best and worked hard for everything she had.
Ann is survived by her sons, Gavin and Alexander Quinn; daughter, Shannon (Scott) Harbin; nine grandchildren; sisters, Mary (George) Oley, Sarah (Harvey) Hooper, Elizabeth (Gary) Clark, and Margaret Quinn; brothers, John (Denise) Quinn, and Thomas (Jeremy) Love; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A calling hour will take place from 9:45 – 10:45 AM on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at St. John the Baptist/Holy Trinity Church, 406 Court St; Syracuse, NY 13208. A funeral mass in celebration of Ann’s life will follow at 11:00 AM.
