Ann Marie (Richards) Burns' Obituary
Ann Marie (Richards) Burns, 68, of Liverpool, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 8, 2020. She was born in Binghamton, NY. She was lovingly known to many as “Mama B”. She worked at MONY in her early years, before working in the cafeteria at Our Lady of Pompei and went on to work at St. Joseph’s Hospital as a Monitor Tech for over 20 years. Ann was well known for being one of the most selfless, gentle human beings anyone could have ever met. She enjoyed cooking (in mass quantities), trips to camp in the Adirondacks, and was an avid animal lover. Most importantly, she lived for her grandchildren.
She is predeceased by the love of her life, her husband and best friend, Nicholas “Bobby” Burns in 2014; her brother, John Carey and her spoiled dogs, RJ, Sam and Rocky.
Ann is survived by her children, Edward “EJ” (Tia) Burns of Baldwinsville and Katy (Jeff Dunseath) Burns of Manlius; four grandchildren, Aydan, Carter, Layla and Avianna; several nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers in law and her partner in crime, Ann (James) Foster.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Ann’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Assumption Church. Burial will follow at Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
