Ann Veronica William's Obituary
Ann Veronica William, 84, of Cicero, passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2022 with her family and loving dog, Charlie, by her side. She was born on July 30, 1938 in Syracuse, and attended the Convent school and later graduated from Notre Dame Academy, Miami, FL. She then went on to get her B.S. in Biology from St Francis College, PA and her Master’s in education from Syracuse University. Ann taught Science at the Convent school and Maria Regina College. Ann was part-owner of William's Groceries and Meat Fair Inc., North Syracuse. There, she created the largest International Foods Department in CNY, instructed cooking demonstrations, and brought many other creative ideas to the business.
Ann, or as most knew her "Aunt Ann", took great pride in her gardens. She had a love for swimming, cooking, and entertaining her many friends and family. She hosted Christmas Eve dinner and had many summer parties. Ann was a woman of strong faith and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Cicero.
Ann was loved by all who knew her.
Ann was predeceased by her parents, Hilda (Decillis) William and Joseph F. William and her 3-year-old sister, Elizabeth William.
Ann is survived by her sister, Toni (William) Tassone; her nieces and nephews, Joseph (Kim) Tassone, Daniel (Amy) Tassone, Toni (Patrick) DiPirro, and Kellie Tassone; great nieces and nephews, Lauren Tassone, Alyssa Tassone, Samantha (Daniel) Pietricola, Gabrielle (Timothy) Ritch, Luke DiPirro, William Tassone, and Elizabeth Tassone; great great nieces and nephews, Emersyn, Wellsley, and Eleanor Pietricola.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Ann’s life will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, November 12, 2022 in Sacred Heart Church of Cicero, followed by entombment in the family mausoleum at Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
