Anna Catherine (Castrilli) Stefanco

Anna Catherine (Castrilli) Stefanco, age 86, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to her eternal rest on August 31, 2025. Daughter of the late Anthony and Concetta (Visalli) Castrilli, Anna was a lifelong Syracuse area resident, growing up on Knaul Street and eventually moving to Westvale where she lived for 60 years. She attended North High School and was a proud young member of the Pompeiian Players. She began her professional life at General Electric and over the years worked in retail sales, job placement and banking, retiring from Westar Credit Union in Camillus in 2019. With a talent for art, she set aside her dream of working in fashion design in NYC to stay close to home and begin a family. Yet throughout her life Anna found time to pursue her passion for drawing and painting, using watercolors and oils on canvas to express her vision of nature’s beauty and scenes from her travel experiences for others to enjoy. She also persevered in her education both in her hobby and as a professional, proudly earning a business degree later in life from Central City Business Institute. Above all else, Anna was devoted to her family, her church and her friends, which she accumulated easily and often kept for life. She loved family gatherings, was a member of numerous social organizations and with her fun and outgoing personality and great sense of humor, always sought to engage with people. She made new friends and crossed paths with old ones seemingly wherever she went. Mom will forever be remembered for bringing smiles and laughs to the world and making all feel welcome, in her presence and her home. Anna was predeceased by her loving husband of 33 years, Michael and her siblings, Mary, Anthony and Joseph. She is survived by her son, Paul Floreck and his wife Carrie; daughter, Lisa Letizia; stepdaughter and stepson, Marianne and Kenneth Strait; grandchildren, Francis and his wife Lauren; grandchildren, Evan, Alanna, Christopher and Timothy; her great-grandson, Luca, her sisters-in-law, Michele and Madelyn; and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 8:30 am – 10:15 am at St. Charles-St. Ann’s Church, 501 S. Orchard Rd. Syracuse, NY, immediately followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Anna’s life at 10:30 am. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna’s name may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
