Anna May (Snow) Rains' Obituary
Anna May (Snow) Rains, 90, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse to the late Clarence H. Sr. and Mary (Boog) Snow. Anna May retired from General Electric after working for many years as a bookkeeper. In the 1970’s she took part in the historic trip that started at the Indiana border and ended with crossing the Mackinac Bridge as part of a group of seven women on snowmobiles. Anna May had a love of the outdoors; she cherished time spent in the Adirondacks, the St. Lawrence Seaway, and of course, at her cottages on Wellesley Island. She was an avid knitter and crocheter and an excellent bowler on many various teams throughout the years. Her favorite game, however, was Triple Yahtzee; she was known to play almost every day, even via FaceTime during the pandemic.
Besides her parents, Anna May is predeceased by her first husband, Allen B. Leo in 1987, her second husband, Claire G. Rains in 2001, and her siblings, Jean Pinkowski, Clarence H. Snow, Jr., and Lois M. Perkins.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Ann (Marc) Dulin; her grandchildren, Jennifer Anne Dulin and Rebecca Marie (Corey) Slone; great-grandchildren, Logan, Oliver, and Adaline Slone; nieces and nephews, Nancy Wilkinson, Amy Perkins, Bill (Maxine) Snow, and Larry (Vicki) Snow; along with several great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral service in celebration of Anna May’s life will take place at a later date. Words of comfort may be expressed at tjpfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anna May’s name may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave. Syracuse, NY 13208.
