Anne P. Cannella's Obituary
Anne P. Cannella, 84, of Cicero, passed away at home Thursday surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late William and Mary (Kuspis) Prokopiak. Anne started work as a bank teller with Merchants Bank. After taking time to start and raise a family, she returned to the workplace as a reservation agent with USAir for 19 years. She then worked 10 years as a receptionist in Dr. Roger Kaufman’s office before retiring for good. She enjoyed singing and was a vocalist with Dick Kowell’s big band Orchestra from 1948 – 1957.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her former husband; the father of her six children, Dr. Francis A. Cannella in 1996 and all of her five brothers – Steve, Joe, Alexander, John and Michael.
Anne is survived by her six children, Mary (Jon) Hartman of Cicero, Theresa Cannella Downing of Liverpool, Rose (Peter) Hartman of Pittsford, NY, Anthony Cannella of Port St. Lucie, FL., Christine Cannella Suski of Rochester, and Peter (Elizabeth) Cannella of Cicero; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and her large extended family of beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Anne’s life at 10:30 AM in Holy Cross Church, DeWitt. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
