Anne M. "Chickie" Tortora's Obituary
Anne M. "Chickie" (Baldini) Tortora, 75, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday at her home. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of Theodore and Rose Baldini. Anne was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church for many years, volunteering as a RCIA Instructor and a member of the church Bereavement Committee. She was a family court attendant for the Onondaga County Sheriff's Department, retiring in 2001. Anne loved life, being with her family and friends, enjoyed each day to its fullest and always had a positive outlook. Anne was very grateful for how well she was cared for by her doctors. She was predeceased by her husband, Alex Tortora in 1986 and three brothers, Nick, Leonard and Teddy Baldini. Anne is survived by her daughter, Roseanne Swaner and fiancé, John Lewis of Jordan along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 12:00 pm in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.
