Anne (Matyas) Walshe's Obituary
Anne M. (Matyas) Walshe, 92, of North Syracuse, passed away Friday at Crouse Hospital surrounded by her loving family. After graduating Central High School, she served in the United States Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946. Anne then worked for the Veterans Administration Credit Union. After raising her family, she was employed by the Agway Driver Training Division. Anne enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting and spending time with her friends at the Salina Seniors. She also enjoyed traveling during her younger years. Anne especially loved spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, John V. Walshe in 1969 and her two sisters, Helen Fatcheric and Wilma Olszewski and a brother, John Matyas.
Anne is survived by her three children, Christine W. (John) Gagliardo of Breesport, NY; Joseph Walshe of North Syracuse and Thomas Walshe of Schenectady; two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Kelly) Gagliardo and Matthew Gagliardo; two great-grandchildren, Magnolia and Brayton; a brother, Edward (Helen) Matyas of Syracuse along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Monday in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and at 11:00 AM in St. Margaret's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Road, (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
