Anne (DiBello) Zingaro's Obituary
Anne (DiBello) Zingaro, 95, of Syracuse, went on to be with the Lord after a short illness on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Monopoli, Italy and immigrated to Ellis Island with her mother at the age of 4. In her 20’s Anne sang for weddings and was a member of the Pompeian Players and was also a member of St. Margaret’s Altar Rosary Society. She retired from Syracuse China as a decorator and also worked at Erie Belle Restaurant. She loved to cook, read, and play on her computer. Anne also enjoyed traveling, spending her winters in Florida. Anne was the heart of the family and was deeply loved by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her mother, Cosima (Ernandes) DiBello; her loving husband of 53 years, John Zingaro in 1994 and her brother, Angelo DiBello.
Anne is survived by her three daughters, Virginia (Jay) Seitz of Cicero, Irene (Chris) Lappano of North Syracuse and JoAnne (Greg) Stewart; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Betts and Julia Fiore, along with many nieces and nephews.
Anne’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff on 2-5 and the Palliative Care team at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their care and compassion in her final days.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Anne’s life at 11:00 am in St. Margaret’s Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
