Annette (Sackett) Ferrante's Obituary
Annette (Sackett) Ferrante passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Thursday, April 2, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Syracuse to the late August Sackett and Loretta “Dolly” (Salamino) Grillo. Annette attended Our Lady of Pompei School and graduated from St. John the Baptist Academy. Over the years Annette worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital, was an in-home daycare provider, and later at Our Lady of Pompei School and Bishop Ludden. She also was an exceptional caregiver to many close family members.
Annette’s family and faith were the center of her life. She especially enjoyed cooking, celebrating Christmas from October through Christmas Day, and floating in a pool. Above all she loved to spend quality time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her stepfather, Louis Grillo along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Annette is survived by her husband of 35 years, Michael E. Ferrante; her son, Nicholas; her daughter, Kendall; her stepsister, Jeanine (Jeff) Scott; her stepbrother, David (Sandy) Grillo; her aunt, Glorianne Salamino; along with several nieces and nephews and a large contingent of beloved cousins and friends.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. on Friday, April 10, 2026 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. A funeral mass in celebration of Annette’s life will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 11, 2026 in Our Lady of Pompei/ St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St. Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Annette’s memory to Our Lady of Pompei/ St Peter’s Church, Hospice of CNY, or the Cancer Infusion Center at St Joseph’s Hospital.
