Annette M. (Salamino) Zoanetti's Obituary
Annette M. (Salamino) Zoanetti, 79, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 after a short illness. Annette was born on January 17, 1936, in Syracuse and graduated from North High School for which she was still active in their Reunion Committee. She was formerly employed at Home Insurance. Annette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She was a lifetime communicant of Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church and was a past member of their St Anthony Society and Bereavement Committee. Annette was most famous for her delicious meatballs and sauce. She and her husband Leo served dinner for the entire family and whoever would “pop-in” on Thursday nights for many, many years. Her grandchildren affectionately named Thursday, “Meatball Day”. Annette enjoyed spending time with her family along with following her grandchildren’s sporting/school events, as well as keeping in contact with all her friends and extended family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Sebastian and Eleanor (Cisternino) Salamino; her beloved husband Leo; a son, Michael Leo; her sister, Theresa Cimino, her brothers, Larry Salamino, Angelo Salamino, as well as several sisters and brothers-in-law.
Annette is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Joe) Dalfo, Luanne (Tom) Fodaro and Lori (Mike) Yaizzo; her cherished grandchildren, Cristi and Joey Dalfo, Tom and Chelsey (Kenny Sills) Fodaro, Gianna, Michael, and Aleah Yaizzo and great-grandson, Julien; her sisters, Mary Nicoletti, Loretta (Lou) Grillo; her brother, Peter Salamino;
her sisters-in-law, Glorianne Salamino, Jeanne Zoanetti and Geraldine Zoanetti,
as well as countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the caregivers, residents and friends at The Hearth on James, where Annette called home for the last two years.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Annette’s life at 1:00 pm in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Family and friends may call from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Annette’s memory to Our Lady of Pompei/St Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, NY or Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 425 Beechwood Ave., Liverpool, NY.
