Anthony E. "Tony" Aloi's Obituary
Anthony "Tony" Aloi, 87, of Cicero, passed away Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Syracuse and was a graduate of Eastwood High School and Central City Business Institute. Tony served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korea, on the USS Oak Hill and USS Mayo. He was an Inspector with Carrier Corporation for 35 years, retiring in 1988. Tony was a volunteer fireman in Jamesville and was a member of the American Legion North Syracuse Post 5988. He was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and dancing at the "Lace Club". Tony's greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Anita (Casinella) Aloi in 1986 and his brother, Frank M. Aloi in 2012. Tony is survived by his wife, Sally Gieselman Aloi; his son, Gerald A. "Jerry" (Mary Beth) Aloi of Jamesville; his daughter, Therese "Terri" (Brian) Mullett of Manlius; two step-sons, John (Deborah) Wilcox of Kingston, NY and Dan (Linda) Gieselman of Grand Island, NY; a brother, Joseph (Nancy) Aloi of Syracuse; four grandchildren, Mark Mullett of NYC, Matthew (Julia) Aloi of MA, Michael Mullett of NYC and Meaghan Aloi of Syracuse; four step-grandchildren, Kristyn Wilcox of Washington D.C., Beth (Ruben) Mongay Cantero of Paris, France, Samantha Gieselman of Grand Island, NY and Alexis Gieselman of Grand Island, NY along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Jamesville. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
