Anthony L. "Tony" "Tauts" Augello's Obituary
Anthony L. Augello, 86, of Syracuse, passed away Monday at St. Camillus surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, the son of the late Lorenzo and Virginia (Merulla) Augello. Tony was a U.S. Army veteran, stationed in Germany during WWII. He retired as a mason with Crucible Steel.
He was predeceased by his two sisters, Josephine Greco and Rose Michalec. Tony is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Josephine (Verone) Augello; his three beloved children, Virginia (Jeffrey) Stannard of Malvern, PA; Lorenzo (Brenda Langdon) Augello of Liverpool and Gregory Augello of Camillus; his seven cherished grandchildren, Rachel and Megan Stannard, Nicholas and Stephanie Augello, Colleen, Emily and Anthony Augello; brother-in-law, Angelo Greco; daughters-in-law, Robin and Karen Augello along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in St. Brigid and St. Joseph Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Brigid and St. Joseph Church, 318 Herkimer Street, Syracuse, NY 13204 or to St. Camillus, 813 Fay Road, Syracuse, NY 13219.
